Inducted 1976. Donald Eliason, or Eli --as he is known to his teammates --lettered in three sports at Hamline: baseball, football and basketball. He earned All-State honors each year in football and was captain of the 1940 team. He was a tackle and fullback in football, played first base on the diamond and was a guard on the basketball team. Eliason played pro football in 1942 and 1946 with a three-year interruption for service in World War II.

Eliason was a science teacher and coach at Excelsior and Minnetonka high schools, and a bonded representative for a brokerage firm before his retirement. He has received state-wide recognition for his volunteer work with the mentally retarded, is past president of the St. Paul Baseball and Softball Old Timers, and started retirement bowling and golf leagues. He is an inductee of the Harding High School Hall of Fame as well as the Old Timers St. Paul Football Hall of Fame. Eliason has three "holes-in-one" in golf. Deceased 2003.
