Jack Serier ’90 originally came to Hamline with the plan to become a history professor. A job in campus security changed his career plans and, after twenty-six years in law enforcement, Serier was named Ramsey County Sheriff filling the role of the recently retired Matt Bostrom DPA ’03. Not many people would have predicted success for the 1966 Hamline football team. Yet hard work, teamwork, and great leadership led to an unforgettable season. Ingrid Christensen is the founder and President of INGCO International, a global language services firm that provides corporate on-site interpreting and document translation in over 200 languages. Formed in 2006, INGCO works with Fortune 500 companies like 3M, HB Fuller and Nike as well as many small and mid-sized companies and nonprofit organizations.
Ingrid has been honored for her work and community commitment by the Minneapolis/Saint Paul Business Journal
as a 40 Under 40, the Leader of the Pack award from the National Wolf Center, the Innovation in Service award on behalf of the National Association of Woman Owned Businesses and multiple Deubener Awards from the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce. Read more.
Juan Grimaldo graduated from Hamline in 1990 with a double major in communication studies and French. After graduating, Juan dedicated his professional career to TV production and teaching English as a second language at a university in Medellin, Colombia. He returned to Hamline to expand his professional opportunities and earn a Master of Arts in Management. Upon completion, he returned to Colombia and has held a variety of rewarding positions. This past year, he became the Senior Press Information Specialist for the U.S. embassy in Bogota. Read more.
Over the past three years, Tom Shu ’12 has juggled the management of two start ups while also working on seven different projects spread over six states for Optum. He recently dropped by the Alumni House to share some Cold Brew Elixir from his company Blue Penguin Coffee
and to share his thoughts on how Hamline helped him get to where he is today. Read more
