Alum Creates Can Can Wonderland

Jennifer Pennington MPA ' 15 has opened Can Can Wonderland. The attraction features an 18 hole artist designed mini golf course, a black box theater, a giant cardboard maze, pinball, snacks and cocktails. Read more

Men's Basketball Featured
Hamline's men's basketball team finished with just four wins in their 2015-2016 season, but this year, things are looking much better. Their success was noticed by the St. Paul Pioneer Press and they were featured in an article on January 20. Read about the Pipers here.  
Jack Serier ’90 Appointed Ramsey County Sheriff
Jack Serier ’90 originally came to Hamline with the plan to become a history professor. A job in campus security changed his career plans and, after twenty-six years in law enforcement, Serier was named Ramsey County Sheriff filling the role of the recently retired Matt Bostrom DPA ’03. Alumni Spotlight

Justin Dahlheimer '06
In 2006, Justin Dahlheimer became the fifth generation of his family to graduate from Hamline University. Since then, he’s taken his passion for community economic development back home, to Osakis, Minnesota where Justin took over as President of the First National Bank of Osakis in 2016. After graduating with a BA in Economics and History from Hamline, Justin spent time working as a research associate with The Institute for Local-Self Reliance and eventually acquired a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota. Since moving back to Osakis in 2010, Justin has become avidly involved in his community as a volunteer firefighter, high school track & field and cross country coach, a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, and recently elected City Councilman. Ingrid Christensen MAM ’06
Ingrid Christensen is the founder and President of INGCO International, a global language services firm that provides corporate on-site interpreting and document translation in over 200 languages. Formed in 2006, INGCO works with Fortune 500 companies like 3M, HB Fuller and Nike as well as many small and mid-sized companies and nonprofit organizations. 

Ingrid has been honored for her work and community commitment by the Minneapolis/Saint Paul Business Journal as a 40 Under 40, the Leader of the Pack award from the National Wolf Center, the Innovation in Service award on behalf of the National Association of Woman Owned Businesses and multiple Deubener Awards from the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce.  Read more.
Juan Grimaldo ’90 MAM ’04

Juan Grimaldo graduated from Hamline in 1990 with a double major in communication studies and French. After graduating, Juan dedicated his professional career to TV production and teaching English as a second language at a university in Medellin, Colombia. He returned to Hamline to expand his professional opportunities and earn a Master of Arts in Management. Upon completion, he returned to Colombia and has held a variety of rewarding positions. This past year, he became the Senior Press Information Specialist for the U.S. embassy in Bogota. Read more.
