Presentation:

This CLE will explore a few of the key areas identified by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) as needing oversight and in some cases rule making.

Specifically, this CLE will examine the following:
  • Student Loans - New resources to educate consumers; enforcement actions, and increased supervision of student loan servicers
  • Mortgages - The Ability to Repay and Qualified Mortgage requirements that took effect in January; The merging of Truth in Lending (TILA) and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) documents
  • Credit Cards - College campus disclosure of marketing agreements, prepaid card disclosures, scrutiny of debit cards
Speaker Bio:

Jon Selleys JD ’11 is a Senior Compliance Consulting Analyst at Wolters Kluwer Financial Services in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, Jon works regularly with lending institutions of all sizes on banking regulatory compliance projects. Prior to joining Wolters Kluwer Financial Services, Jon assisted clients with consumer default and bankruptcy services at TarioLegal, P.C. in Bloomington MN. Additionally, Jon has nine years of experience working directly with clients on federal regulatory compliance projects.
