Thorny Issues in ERISA Litigation CLE
The presentation will explain what types of claims are covered by ERISA and discuss several thorny issues associated with an ERISA claim, including the requirement of exhaustion of administrative remedies and the need to develop the record before litigation, the standard of review in litigation, statute of limitations, preemption of state law claims, and the fiduciary exception to the attorney/client privilege.

Racial Disparities in Juvenile Adjudication CLE
Racial disparities in juvenile adjudication is an issue in Minnesota and nationwide. This presentation discusses the racial disparities which have been reported in Minnesota juvenile adjudications. It is based upon data from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. This presentation also explores people’s individual interpretations of what race and ethnicity mean. This session seeks one Elimination of Bias CLE Credit.
